TERMS & CONDITIONS 

OF OCCUPANCY

We are delighted to welcome you as our guest at The Green Escape where you and your group can enjoy this wonderful wooded copse in complete privacy.  There are, of course, a few matters that are important conditions of your stay with us:

 

1. Arrival & Departure

Please could you give us an estimated arrival time, on the day, telephone us half an hour before you arrive, as we like to greet and help you to settle in. Check in is from 3pm. Please arrange your group into two arrival times so we can assist with your arrival. Guests are requested to be ready to leave by 11 am and the site left clean and tidy. TGE staff will return to assist you back to your cars.

2. Parking & Access

Parking is for up to 10 cars at Inn On The Green, 1.5 miles / 3 minute drive from our site:

Inn On The Green, Stane Street, Ockley, Surrey, RH5 5TD

 

Guests can drop off belongings and passengers directly to our woodland and then park cars at the car park. The Green Escape staff will ferry the drivers back to the site.Guests are advised not to leave items in their car. The Green Escape cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.

3. Etherley Farm

Etherley Farm is a working farm with farm fields that surround The Green Escape woodland. It is a completely separate business from The Green Escape. Please do not enter their fields, climb over gates or fences, guests are not permitted to use the surrounding fields beyond The Green Escape fenced woodland area for recreational purposes. Please do not feed, approach or interfere with any of the animals including the poultry polytunnels. ​

4. Residents & Visitors

Only registered guests are permitted to be on site. No additional visitors are allowed. If you want visitors, please ask us in advance.

5. Insurance & Liability 

Under no circumstances are we liable for any loss or damage to guests’ property.  Guests are advised to have holiday insurance to cover any loss or damage to personal belongings and holiday cancellation.

6. Smoking

No smoking is allowed inside the shepherd’s huts or any other facilities at the site.

​

7. Pets 

Sorry we can’t have pets because of the livestock in the surrounding fields.

​

8. Good Conduct & Safety

Guests agree to be considerate visitors and to take good care of the huts and facilities during their stay and not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to our neighbours or damage the woodland, flora or fauna.  

The wood-burning stoves become very hot when in use so please take every sensible precaution, and do not place anything on or alongside the stove.

Fires should only be lit in the designated fire pits.  We can provide firewood, so please do not chop any wood or trees at the site. 

Please maintain noise levels at a reasonable level, especially between 10pm and 8am. Small battery operated speakers are permitted but no professional amplified music equipment allowed on site.

9. Additional Decor 

Additional décor requests must be agreed with The Green Escape ahead of your stay. We do not allow glitter cannons, ticker tape, fireworks, confetti or transferrable dye products to be brought on site.

10. Inventory / Damage 

Please report any breakages when they occur, so that they can be fixed or replaced as soon as possible.   The huts and facilities should be left in the same condition as they were found on arrival. Guests are liable for any loss or damage that occurs during the period of their stay.  

A returnable damages deposit of £200 will need to be transferred ahead of your stay, is there are no damages the deposit will be returned a few days after your visit once the site has been checked over.

11. Rural Life

By booking, and acknowledging these Terms and Conditions, you confirm that you are aware of the risks and hazards of entering The Green Escape site - which is a natural wooded copse - and the surrounding land where there may be uneven ground, ditches, rabbit-holes and inedible shrubs, fungi etc.  There is a shallow stream which occurs during wet periods and should be treated with normal precaution.

Our site adjoins a working farm so the gates must be kept shut at all times.

 

12. Security

When going off site please lock all the accommodation.

13. Difficulties

If anything is not to your satisfaction please let us know straight away so we can resolve any issues.

14. Zip Wire Risk acknowledgement & disclaimer

I understand that by unlocking the zip wire we are accountable for the use of this equipment in a safe and responsible manner during our stay and use the zip wire at our own risk. 

15(a).   I understand that there is a risk of injury when using the zip wire. 

15(b).   To reduce the risks I agree to follow all the instructions set out in the Safety Rules. 

15 (c).    I agree that I am responsible for any children in my care and undertake to ensure that he/she/they read, understand and will follow the instructions set out in the Safety Rules and oral instructions mentioned above. 

15(d).   I declare that if I am not their parent or guardian I have the authority of the parent or guardian to sign the risk acknowledgement and disclaimer. 

15(e).   In the event of an accident, loss or damage to personal effects to myself, other guests or the children in my care, I acknowledge that The Green Escape will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with the Zip Wire and I waive all and any claims against The Green Escape in this respect both for myself and/or for the guests/children in my care. 

15(f).   I certify that to the best of my knowledge neither I nor any other guests/children in my care have a medical condition which might make me or him/ her/them more likely to sustain an injury.

 

16. Breach of terms and conditions

We reserve the right to exclude anyone breaching our terms and conditions.
