The rhododendron wood on Leith Hill is just a 20 minute walk from The Green Escape. Created by Caroline Wedgwood, of the illustrious pottery family and sister of naturalist Charles Darwin, the beautiful shaded formal landscape provides a tranquil setting to explore. Accessible all year round, but best to visit between April and June to catch the flowers in full bloom.

Enjoy the walk on the winding paths to Leith Hill tower and stop for a picnic at the top. Climb to the top of the tower and experience the breathtaking views. On a clear day you can see towards London in the north and the English Channel in the south. Refreshments served from the tiny window at the bottom (opening times vary). Visitors can also drive to Starveall car park and compete the shorter walk to the tower.
