Conditions of Occupancy
We are delighted to welcome you as our guest at The Green Escape where you and your group can enjoy this wonderful wooded copse in complete privacy. There are, of course, a few matters that are important conditions of your stay with us:
1. Arrival & Departure
Please could you give us an estimated arrival time, on the day, telephone us half an hour before you arrive, as we like to greet and help you to settle in. The site is usually prepared and ready by 2pm. We will meet the lead co-ordinator and group at the car parking area, take them to The Green Escape and familiarise them with the site.
Guests are requested to leave by 11 am. Please inform us of the time you wish to leave so that we can wish you farewell and collect keys etc.
2. Parking & Access
There are a maximum of 10 parking spaces on Etherley farm, which is approximately 5 minutes walk down a track and across a field to the The Green Escape site. This is the only permitted access route to The Green Escape and is walking only. Guests are advised not to leave items in their car. The Green Escape cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
3. Etherley Farm
Etherley Farm is a working farm and a completely separate business from The Green Escape. If you’re having trouble finding us, please contact The Green Escape team on the numbers provided. Do not ring the bell at the farm for assistance, feed, approach or interfere with any of the animals including the poultry polytunnels. Please do not climb over gates or fences and guests are not permitted to use the surrounding fields beyond The Green Escape fenced woodland area for recreational purposes.
4. Residents & Visitors
Only registered guests are permitted to be on site. No additional visitors are allowed. If you want visitors, please ask us in advance.
5. Insurance & Liability
Under no circumstances are we liable for any loss or damage to guests’ property. Guests are advised to have holiday insurance to cover any loss or damage to personal belongings and holiday cancellation.
No smoking is allowed inside the shepherd’s huts or any other facilities at the site.
Sorry we can’t have pets because of the livestock in the surrounding fields.
8. Good Conduct & Safety
Guests agree to be considerate visitors and to take good care of the huts and facilities during their stay and not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to our neighbours or damage the woodland, flora or fauna.
The wood-burning stoves become very hot when in use so please take every sensible precaution, and do not place anything on or alongside the stove.
Fires should only be lit in the designated fire pits. We can provide firewood, so please do not chop any wood or trees at the site.
Please maintain noise levels at a reasonable level, especially between 10pm and 8am.
Additional décor requests must be agreed with The Green Escape ahead of your stay. We do not allow glitter cannons, ticker tape, fireworks, confetti or transferrable dye products to be brought on site.
9. Inventory / Damage
You will find an inventory of furnishings and equipment in the property. Please check this on arrival and let us know if anything is missing. Guests are liable for any loss or damage that occurs during the period of their stay. Please report any breakages when they occur, so that they can be fixed or replaced as soon as possible. The huts and facilities should be left in the same condition as they were found on arrival.
A returnable cheque of £200 will be required on arrival and returned after your stay if no damage has been caused.
10. Rural Life
By booking, and acknowledging these Terms and Conditions, you confirm that you are aware of the risks and hazards of entering The Green Escape site - which is a natural wooded copse - and the surrounding land where there may be uneven ground, ditches, rabbit-holes and inedible shrubs, fungi etc. There is a shallow stream which occurs during wet periods and should be treated with normal precaution.
Our site adjoins a working farm so the gates must be kept shut at all times.
When going off site please lock all the accommodation.
If anything is not to your satisfaction please let us know straight away so we can resolve any issues.
13. Breach of terms and conditions
We reserve the right to exclude anyone breaching our terms and conditions.
